Jessica Breanne

Electric Heart is the newest album from Nashville musician Jessica Breanne. The title comes from the name of the longtime rock band she fronted. Years after its dissolution and well into a successful solo career, Jessica Breanne has reclaimed it as a descriptor for the fueling fire and self-fulfillment she gets from songwriting and singing. Unlike its thematic predecessor Rosebud Queen, the songs on this record don’t share a single landscape. They traverse different experiences from different periods of time, distilling lessons learned and feelings felt into a concord of wisdom. Her unique, uncontainable voice floats over Southern rock riffs, psychedelic synth runs and flourishing piano. Electric Heart discusses the fear and hunger of being a modern woman, breaking the cycles that hold one back and trying to stay dedicated to making art despite life’s failure and sadness. It features instrumentation from some of Nashville’s best– including bassist Jack Lawrence, guitarist Sean Thompson and keyboardist Jo Schornikow– and was produced by Jessica Breanne alongside longtime collaborator Jake Davis. She penned all of the songs herself and had a strong hand in their formation and, with full creative control, accomplished a confident, refined sound that wavers between vintage pop, Southern rock and folk. Electric Heart stands strong as the latest installment in Jessica Breanne’s ever-growing and ever-evolving body of work.
